Coastal soul from Santa Barbara. Written, sung, and mixed by hand.

jwadi

I’m JWADI. I’m 45 and a recovering alcoholic who decided to get back into music after pissing away a decade of my life. I’m a singer, a songwriter, a rapper and a producer. I don’t remember much from my younger days, so if we’ve met and I don’t remember you, don’t take it personal.
Way back in the day I was the singer in another band, and I wrote a record called “One More Night” that debuted at No. 1 on the Reggae Billboard Charts. That was in 2012. I’m not a reggae artist.
These days I’m just trying to navigate the roads of sound, sobriety and starting over again in my 40’s. It’s not easy. It never is.

I’m just trying to make the best and most honest music I can.

I taught myself to mix because I wanted the thing in my head to come out sounding like the thing in my head. I'm filming the whole process: the studio, the process, the parts that don't go well.  All of it.  Why?  Because somebody else out there is also up at 2am trying to finish something.

Third solo album, "EVEN IF IT KILLS ME, October 16.

New single "The Place You Started," August 28.
Thanks for listening.
